Drones: A license is Required

At Luke Pepper Creative, we are adamant regarding the importance of safety and legality when it comes to our productions. A large portion of this is to recognize the regulations surrounding drone use when shooting on location.

Drones have become a vital tool in the video producers toolkit. From establishing shots, to scouting locations, they are used in nearly every part of the production process. For our team, we never go on site without bringing one with us. They are a necessity when shooting.

With drones though, it is not simply a tool that anyone can use. The potential for property damage, physical injury, or worse is something that always needs to be considered when using the technology. Gone are the days of being a rogue pilot, not considering the potential risks associated with each flight, but rather, careful planning is the name of the game. Our pilots are licensed by the FAA to fly commercially, and that is a requirement for our staff. Safety is our number 1 priority.

When hiring a production company, it is important to bring drone licensing into consideration. You should never hire a company that does not use licensed pilots. Period. The risk is far too great and the potential legal ramifications could be catastrophic. Contact us today to discuss your needs and how our licensed team can help support you.
